Caron Butler status = uncertain
WASHINGTON -- It raised a few eyebrows when Caron Butler was listed as day-to-day for nearly a month. Now the Washington Wizards have discovered the reason.
A re-examination of the All-Star forward's hip revealed a small labral tear of the left joint. Butler will be reexamined next week -- the injury might require surgery -- and coach Eddie Jordan made it sound as if his slumping team isn't expecting its toughest player to return anytime soon.
ESPN Article
With around 25 games left in the Wizards season this pretty much ruins their playoff chances. They are currently 6th in the East, but four other teams have a legit chance to pass them up.

If Butler has surgery, I don't think he will be back for the playoffs. However, Gilbert Arenas will be back near the end of March. I believe the return date he is targeting is March 25th.

Jeez, these guys have been hit HARD the last 2 years. Would appear that free agency will take, my boy, Antawn Jamison away this offseason too.

i hope that he comes back soon.... i've noticed lately that there's been more special offers for tickets this year than ever (meaning, reduced price wizards tickets) with all the injuries. i guess attendance has taken a hit this season.... for the bucks game on tuesday they had $25 lower level tickets that are normally around $85!
