apparently he never left...some rumor boards reported he did:
Free agent wide receiver Bernard Berrian is in Minnesota today negotiating with the Vikings, and a contract agreement could be finished before the day is out.
Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that reporters gathered at the Vikings' press conference to introduce free agent signing Madieu Williams saw Berrian in the team's facility, and coach Brad Childress acknowledged that the team is talking to Berrian.
Vikings executive Rick Spielman wouldn't say whether Berrian, who led the Bears in catches and yards last year, is planning to make a visit to Oakland, but Zulgad writes, "it would not be surprising to get wind of a Berrian news conference later this afternoon or Sunday morning."
The Vikings are also reportedly interested in free agent wide receiver Javon Walker.

He is in fact still in Minnesota, he was seen wearing a Vikings Cap and carrying a Vikings jersey while walking out of the Vikings weight room. Would appear he's nearing being signed.

It is now official, Bernard Berrian has signed a 6 year contract with the Vikings.
The Vikings have agreed to terms with WR Bernard Berrian on a six-year contract and an announcement should come before the night is up.
UPDATE: We have independently confirmed the news. FoxSports is also reporting it, along with our friends at the Chicago Sun-Times.
There have been indications for most of the day that a deal was close, beginning when Berrian inadvertantly popped his head into the team’s practice facility prior to a news conference with new S Madieu Williams. Berrian was wearing a Vikings hat and carrying a jersey with his name on it, not exactly the sartorial selection of a guy who was having a bad visit.
Berrian has remained at Winter Park all day as agent Drew Rosenhaus negotiated the deal with the Vikings. Exact terms are not yet available, but the contract is expected to average nearly $7 million per season over six years.

Yep he is now a Vike, but boy the Bears are hurtin at WR now...
The Vikings signed Bernard Berrian to an undisclosed six-year contract.
Berrian could be overmatched if expected to be a true "number one" receiver, but he adds production and talent to a woeful passing game. Tarvaris Jackson now has two burners in Berrian and Sidney Rice, with Bobby Wade still likely to be active underneath. Expect Berrian's numbers to take a slight hit in Minnesota, where Jackson is still a major question mark.
