Topps Jefferson auto not a done deal
This already may be old news to some, but I found it pretty intersting.
Of course lots of people are following with interest how often the 2004 Topps American Treasures cut presidential autos are pulled & sold. I've been trying to keep track and did some followup on the Jefferson auto. It originally sold for $27,800 on 12-2-03. Later the same auto appeared from the same seller and it closed at $8,050 without the reserve being met. So I emailed the seller this morning asking him what had happened. His response:
"Greetings! The first auction was bid on from a person who stole another Ebayers I.D. The auction ended with no result. The second auction failed to meet my reserve. Have to think over my next move. Thanks."
On a separate but related subject, can you believe that a pastor in Virginia pulled two presidential autos from two different boxes? What are the odds of two of those things being sent to the same shop? Sheesh!
