    Shaq's Unfinished Business In Miami

Yesterday, the Miami Heat traded Shaquille O'Neal to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks. This leaves the NBA with an interesting scenario...

The Hawks and Heat played on December 19th, 2007 in an overtime game in which the Atlanta Hawks won. However, the game was later protested by the Miami Heat, because the official scorer incorrectly gave Shaq his 6th foul with 51.9 seconds when it was only his fifth foul.

Now that Shaq has been traded, how will the replay of the last 51.9 seconds (on March 8th) of this game work out? Will Shaq be able to finish the last 51.9 seconds of this game with Miami? Will Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks be eligible to play in the last 51.9 seconds? What if the Hawks also make a deal before the trade deadline?

haha, yeah i read about this in an article today, and they had thought of it before, but said they would only decide what to do if a trade happened... so i guess we'll see!

I forgot about this. Stern needs to cancel the replay. Pointless and ridiculous.

Yeah the replay is pointless. Both teams aren't going anywhere anyway and not like a win either way would swing their playoff positions.

Or they can just play the replay without Shaq (as if he's on the bench) and not let Marion/Banks, play.

Win or loose Miami is the worst team in the NBA. After having a couple of great seasons this has been the worst having players like Wade, Shaq, Mourning, etc on their roster. Nowe they have Marion that after being in a great team is going to be playing with a loosing team. Great for Shaq.....he is going to end his career in a winning team.

This becomes even MORE interesting now that Mike Bibby has been dealt to the Hawks. The Atlanta Hawks traded away Anthony Johnson, Shelden Williams, Tyronn Lue, and Lorenzen Wright in exchange for Mike Bibby on Sunday.

I have to agree now - The replay is pointless. Both Miami and Atlanta's rosters are significantly different since December 19th.

They should replay the 51.9 seconds using NBA Live 08 video game. Rosters should be accurate!
