    Star Member and higher forum?

I have had many requests for an "Elite" forum. I have no problem creating a forum for members with XX amount of trades. To keep it simple we can make it for Star Members and higher.

To make this forum the best it can be, I would like to hear inputs from all the members. Obviously, I will take all inputs, but members with 100 or more feedbacks will have the most say in how this forum looks.

Remember, if you don't provide your inputs you can't complain how it looks later!

Mike, i think it should have a somewhat similar approach as the regular forums, basically and buy/sell part a regular trading spot and a high end part of the forum. off my own knowledge football, baseball, and basketball forums could really use it since i go in those forums very frequently and also i agree that it should take 100 feedback to enter

It is important to get the structure right. Are you talking about each sport having an "Elite" area, or an are that has several sub-forums?

like i'm thinking that there should be a spot when you log on saying "elite trading forum"
and inside having the designated sports inside, so somewhat similar to how the sports forums look now (excluding the chat stuff and off topic stuff). i think it would be greatly used though now than in the past

i think id hug you mike, if it wasnt kind of creepy

and now (big surprise) here come my ideas

The problem with the distinguished forum when last we had it was, it wasnt organized at all. it was just a "you have xxx trades, so you can trade here"
we were getting duplicate posts, and no one really did anything with it. also, the # of feedback was 50, which really made it not that much different from the regular forums- of course, we didnt have nearly as many new members then

i think there would need to be one in each sport- and members who wanted to post there should ONLY post there- not in every forum. it needs to be different somehow, or else it will not be used

    Ed,

Why not just ONLY trade with people that have Star badges or higher? I'm still not seeing the value of having a separate sub-forum. Won't most people just post the same stuff twice? Once in the regular forums and another in the "elite" forum?

yeah, it did happen that way in the past- and im not opposed to trading with anyone, my issue is really the way newer members often respond to posts. the elite forum would (i think- hope) eliminate inappropriate posts- a lot of new members tend to take up a lot of time trying to trade for stuff they really cant afford- ie- offering low end stuff for higher end stuff, and doing so repeatedly. the elite forum could offer traders a better guarantee that they only recieve reasonable offers on their cards
    does that make sense?

i know myself i only trade base with new members as theres less to loose. i keep my better things for the more established traders. so when ed makes a thread and doesnt want to trade with a bunch of the traders who post it proably is kinda a hassel to him as i would agree

also they make more useless threads, and when we post what EXACTALLY WE WANT, theyll still post i like x: so you check there bucket and they had nothing you stated you wanted and made a pointless post

hey Mike- im not sure if this is possible- but instead of a seperate forum, is there a way to limit, by feedback, what users reply to our threads? I know on some of the old auction sites you could set it so that bidders without x feedback couldnt bid- what if we made it so each thread that was posted could have that- that way, on a general trade thread where you dont care what offers you get, it could be set to 0, but on specific threads where you only wanted to trade with more established members (high end trades and whatnot) you could set the feedback level necessary to reply to that post
