    05-06 SPA/SPX boxes prices

    ugh
    so i'm a cp3 collector and just love busting 05-06 stuff in general (also considered to be a 'weak' draft class by many though i don't believe that at all) you can find my threads busting 05/06 spx and 05/06 trilogy mainly. i stopped purchasing 05-06 spa b/c i completed my auto rookie draft class set already.

    anyways, last year these boxes were easily bought for 45-50 bucks/box. i was thinking to myself, hey maybe i should just buy a box of spa and perhaps i'll get lucky with a super rare card. now i look on dacardworld.com and see spa at 90/box, and spx rising to 65+

    what the hell?
    did people just suddenly figure out these kids were good?
    i mean, how can a box of spa double within the same season?
    is this a trend we should see coming for future boxes? personally i wouldn't start buying up 06/07 boxes for investment, but 05/06? hmmm...

    anyways just wanted to rant

    I think people have woken up to this rookie class. I collect Deron Williams and like to bust 05-06 product I can find. People are realizing Chirs Paul and Deron Williams are going to be two of the best point guards in the league for years to come. Andrew Bynum was having a breakout season before he got injured. This should only help the value of your rookie autos.

    i noticed the same thing.ive bought 2 boxes of the 05 spx in december for 50$ each.a few weeks later they jumped like 25%.

    i do agree that the 05 draft class has major future potential.explaining the rise of the box prices.

    I bought one box from d and a when they had them for 49.99 was lucky enough to get a 4 color chris paul rookie autopatch numbered 0016/1299,figured i would never top that one so i didn't buy anymore.I think with paul in the running for mvp this year that is the reason why 05/06 products have spiked in price monta ellis is also beginning to look real good too, I would still buy a box in the 60 to 65 dollar range but anything higher than that I would pass.Take care Steve
