Panthers Sign WR Hackett To Two-Year Deal
Charles Chandler, Charlotte Observer
The Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms today with free-agent WR D.J. Hackett on a two-year, $3.5 million contract. Hackett is expected to compete with WRs Muhsin Muhammad and Dwayne Jarrett for a starting spot. "D.J. is extremely excited," said Hackett's agent, Kevin Robinson. "He was impressed with Marty Hurney, coach (John) Fox and really liked the entire Carolina organization."

We have a QB! Jake Delhomme's surgery was a complete success and he'll be ready for training camp. I can't wait to see this offense on the field.

From what I have been reading, the Panthers goal is for Hackett to be the #2 and Muhammed to be in the slot as the #3. I'm a little surprised Seattle didn't match the offer after they told him to go out to other teams and bring the offers back to them. Seems like they didn't want him in the first place.
I really like the idea of D.J. in that Carolina offense. As long as Delhomme is healthy, they should be pretty explosive. Hopefully the Panthers fans will make it a little easier on my wallet too lol.Collecting: Mychal Kendricks, D.J. Hackett, Nate Allen, Ryne Robinson, Adrian Wilson, DeWayne White, Lawrence Vickers, William Moore, Zak Deossie

If Delhomme isn't ready, I am confident in Matt Moore. Great pick up, we needed it.
