Press Pass / SAGE Question / Opinion
Ok,
So every year they are almost the first products on the market for the new class of rookies....
They are hotter than hot when they come out and eBay sales show that. Then a the year goes on and more products come out, then all of a sudden no one wants Press Pass or SAGE at all. I understand that they are lesser companies when it comes to NFL cards but come on they are still certified autos, granted not in a pro uni but its still the same player with the same auto...what's the big deal???

I think it's mainly because they are a lesser quality card...no bells or whistles. Everyone is hyped when they come out because it is the first football cards of that year...but when the other stuff starts coming out, they fall back to the back of the pack. A lot of people do like them though...I don't mind them at all, love seeing my Clemson boys in their Tigers uni! I think people that collect certain teams or only watch pro football don't like them as much, but people, like me, who watch more college football than pro and collect a college team do like them quite a bit. It's a smaller niche in the market, but there are still people that like them year round.

I like Press Pass. Sage I can do without and it has to do with their crazy looking sticker autos more than anything.
Press Pass gets a bum rap. Some might say that the designs are not that exciting. But I say there is something to be said for the clean look. Add to that on-card autos instead of stickers and I think it is a good product.
funny that so many people want autos on cards with their pro uniforms. but chances are they weren't wearing a uniform at all when they signed it.
And there is an advantage to being the first companies to get out there. Take my PP Ahmad Bradshaw auto. Some people are so turned off by the words press pass that they won't even look at it.
But my card is signed "Ahmad Bradshaw". Look at the high end stuff at the end of the year. They feature nice stickers that say "AB 44"
Press Pass is just fine in my book!

I completely agree with that...I like the clean look too and I can't stand a lot of the brands that are all shiny and cluttered.
I like the base Sage ok, but you're right about the sticker autos too. I'm not one that minds sticker autos so much (although I prefer on card, of course), but their stickers are a bit too big and shiny for me.
