2007 UD SP retail pack by pack. arron afflalo auto rookie!

bought a box at wally world two days ago, thinking they were a bargain for SPx (oops) at 20 bux. not only are they not SPx, they arent even SP rookie authentics (or whatever it is that a recent poster just opened from wal-mart).
technically it's not pack for pack, since i've already opened 3.

first impressions:
interesting looking card...crisp outlined photos superimposed over silver or regular colored basketball swipe. about 25% of card is a pale lemon yellow background, which isnt my cup of tea...was unrealistically hoping for RPG, APG, and MPG stats, but this, after all, upper deck...rookies have a nifty added touch; a silver foil strip on the bottom, along with their name/team in silver lettering. not much, but makes the card look a whole lot cooler...

Specials- Arron Afflalo Auto rookie,77 of 599. card #134. blue auto on card, not sticker (hooray!). his game's been coming on stronger and he's got potential. apperently this is from the set i was talking to about earlier, b/c theres a blue mini-banner above the silver swipe on the bottom that says "rookie authentic autographs" which none of t he other cards or box have.

After that killer third pack, this one's a bit of a letdown. Nash is always cool to get, and Joe Johnson got some red kix that just jump out at you...

Fifth Pack: things still going downhill. have discovered that in addition to the S.I. cover jinx, there's a lesser known yet equally potent SP jinx: the Destination Stardom rookie cards. This time it's Jermareo Davidson. While easily having a top 5 cool name, his game,unfortunately, isn't so sweet...I hereby propose cards should read "Destination Developmental League" instead.

Pack 6: I wasn't thinking hard enough, apparently... Still, got some good ones. just nothing special...Next to last pack in box is always the one with the best pulls, which shoulda been this one. But I got them mixed up, so who knows what order it really was.

Pack 7: Closing time. C'mon baby! Gimme an auto double-quad patch with Jordan, Howard, Durant, Bird, Pistol Pete, Carter, D. Williams, and Chris Paul in Platinum lettering on top of 24kt. gold card stock...

that;s really cool you pulled an auto from retail! so i think this set is SP Retail version? I think that was a decent break and I enjoyed your commentary on the cards!
