    Down goes Dirk

Dirk Nowitzki suffered a left leg injury in Sunday's loss against the Spurs. Nowitzki left the game early in the 3rd quarter. The injury did not look good. He will be reevaulated Monday morning before an official timetable will be released.

Dallas has twelve games remaining this season. Seven are on the road. Dirk Nowitzki could very well miss the remainder of the regular season.

Dallas is currently 7th in the West and only two games out of being 9th and missing the playoffs. If Dirk misses the remainder of the season, will the Mavs make the playoffs without the reigning MVP?

Thats not good for Dallas at all. Might give Kidd a chance to show he can fully lead the team by himself though.

I don't think they are going to the playoffs. It is going to be tough without him. He is big scorer on that team and they really need him. Hopefully they end up like the Rockets and start winning games without the big man.

They are really really in trouble.
With Cuban and Avery Johnson arguing, this team is a mess.
I really think this is the time for Jason Kidd to step up and lead his new team.
If he cant they will lose out on the playoff bid and give it away to Denver and GS.

Don't count them out of the playoffs just yet... Look at what the Rockets have accomplished without Yao.

2 weeks for a high ankle sprain seems like not nearly enough... in the topsey-turvey west I think they might get bounced out of the playoffs.

Surprise! Dirk returned to action tonight. Only took him a week to recover.

He started and played 27 minutes. 18 points scored on 6-15 shooting. Mavs routed the Warriors 111-86 at home.
