    How in the heck

    do you tell what Kind of refractor it is. I always have troubles with this. There are like 20 different kinds.

    nowadays the card itself will have the info on it.
    red,blue,common,x fractors,they will or suppose to say it on the back of the card.

    also if it is #'d, you can look that set up and see what each type of refractors were numbered out of if you really can't tell.

    The color should be obvious from the card. Red refractors have a red motif, blue refractors have a blue motif, etc. With a normal refractor, regardless of color, the entire card will light up with rainbow patterns when held under light. X-Fractors have a pattern of alternating refracting squares and non-refracting squares. And Superfractors don't really refract at all, but have a gold pattern of concentric circles on them.
