For those who are quitting or have quit using Tobacco
This post is for you to announce that you have quit smoking or to state how long you have been tobacco. Time for everyone to be a support group for all of us who have or are going to quit. If you have any tips please share.
I support all those who are in the same boat.
This is to be a positive thread and if anyone starts being negative here I will remove your post and maybe more.

Went first 6 months of 2007 without a cigarette. Relapsed and smoked in July and August and have been smoke free again since September.
I used the nicotine gum.(Not nicorette but the Sams club brand as it tasted better to me) That stuff works wonders for me. No cravings whatsoever with the gum. Just takes about 12-16 weeks to weed yourself off the gum. Whenever I feel the cravings again I will pop a piece of nicotine gum in my mouth. Only side effects are a sore jaw when you first start using it and sometimes you may get a sore in your mouth.

The gum is a little tough when you start to chew it and that brings on the soreness. You actually don't chew it all that much. You chew it until it starts to tingle and then you put in between your cheek and gum and absorb the nicotine. Once in a while you may get a sore from it.

I don't have any tips since I have never smoked but I want to wish you all the best in deciding to quit. It's a big step to quit anything but in the end it will be worth it. Good luck to all.

I used a website http://www.quitsmokeless.org Basically I just went on there daily and posted roll call. This meant that each day that I posted, I promised not to chew that day. You have a group that you work through this together.
That was my quit aid.

Husband quit both chewing tobacco and drinking cold turkey when he started coaching. He chewed for 20+ years and drank 15! Motivation and willpower are all anyone needs. He quit eating meat 2 years ago also.
