Eh, I have a few, but they're all sticker autos.
My guess is that he meant cut autos... or didn't realize just how old Ty Cobb would be today...

cut auto on card does not equal on card auto....on card auto=the person signed the freaking card that is in your hand not an index card inserted into said card.

well, there are 2 "on card" autographs I have seen of Ty Cobb - both were on a T206 tobacco card - one on the "Green Back" Cobb and one on the "Bat Off" Cobb - Considering the man lived until 1961, and LIKED to sign things. In 1959 and 60 he co-owned a pacific coast league team in the Portland, Oregon area (think Minor League) that he bought with the money he invested in Coca Cola. I actually had a Ty Cobb autographed ball from that period for a little while.
Look at is this way, back in the OLDEN DAYS people wrote personal checks, and when you were done, the banks send the canceled checks back to you. NOWadays we do this all electronically. Ty Cobb wrote THOUSANDS of checks (that ALL have his signature on them) and when he died, they took all of these checks and eventually made their ways into topps and UD's hands - they will be able to have checks of his for YEARS to come, and every check can provide a "cut signature"
I realize the relative rarity of these cards, but there are some signers who died VERY young or didn't sign much at all (Walter Johnson, Johnny Evers) whose Topps cut signature cards don't command NEARLY as much as Ty Cobb, who has literally THOUSANDS of cut signatures out there
