What do you think about Obama's Pastor?

Part of an Anti-American, racist church for 20 years? This is his spiritual adviser?!

I don't mean to offend anyone and I'm sorry if I do...but people like that are just as damaging to civil rights and are encouraging racism just as much as a white bigot. Yes, there is still much work that needs to be done by whites to end racism, but because of people like this, there is just as much work to be done by blacks.

If Obama didn't know his closest spirtual advisor was preaching a barrage of hate then does he seriously need to be our next President? No, he doesn't. Why is the Media giving him a free ride? No idea really but it is disheartening to think that Osama will be the next President.

I really like Obama as a human being, but as a President there is no way. If he picks a spiritual adviser like this, what will his judgment be when he selects cabinet positions and supreme court judges?

Obama needs more experience and to show better sound judgment before I can pick him over John McCain. I will consider him in the general election if he can start showing some substance and not just speeches promising free stuff.

You guys sound like Hillary or McCain. Every person on earth has dirt, especially those in politics. To say some one shouldn't be president because his pastor made occasional racist comments is beyond laughable.

Obama is black for god sakes and dealt with inequalities much of his life. You really think he would have supported that crap? He's already denounced any endorsement and chastized the man for his racist remarks.

What's really scary is John McCain's ignorance on foreign affairs. I completely respect McCain for his service to the country but he himself has made some troubling gaffes including stating that Iran was supporting al-Qaeda which is a Sunni group, when in fact Iran is supporting Shiites not Sunnis. Keep in mind these two groups are completely against each other.

Granted, McCain went on to correct his statement but my point is they all have bits and pieces we can sit here and piss and moan about. If you really think any candidate is out to destroy this country or support racist-like remarks, you need a reality check.

As far as Obama promising free stuff, that is really no different than any of the candidates. They all suggest that they have planned out funding for their programs which in reality would often be very implausible in some cases. He's no different then any of them in that standard.

I can understand being partisan or biased, but damn don't let the shades blind you.

One last thing: Fox News is an absolute joke, if you rely on them for news you will be seriously mislead.

bonds - we are not talking about someone having some dirt in their past. That is, sadly, normal. We are talking about someone Obama being influenced by this guy. This speech was not a one time occurance. This is part of his schtick. The fact that Obama kept attending this church and kept looking to this man for guidance is scary people. He didn't have a problem with anything the man said until it posed a problem for him.

Therefore, how do we know that he doesn't agree with what his pastor says? Not to mention, go check out his churches website.
9 months ago, their churches 10 "tenants" were on the front page of the website. Once Obama became a viable candidate, it has been buried on their website. it took me 45 minutes to find it. trust me, if you think the pastors comments were counter to obama's beliefs, you are out of your mind. He has attended this church for years following a very racist agenda.

    onepimp - absolutely agree

lastly, I am a minister myself. I assure you, churches know what their pastors believe and speak from the pulpit. They don't stay with the congregation unless they agree!!

I not stating anything by making an observation. I don't like any of them.

McCain, looks like some sort of puppet, maybe an alien is controlling him. You also better have a dang good VP because he won't make it through his 4 years.

Bililary is scary by simply being her. She does want to stay in Afghainstan but not in Iraq, good half the problem solved.

The reason I said what I said is that Obama stated he didn't know his Spiritual Advisor for more than 20 years was saying this stuff, come on do you really believe that? If so that makes me scared.

We're not saying he shouldn't be president because his pastor made those remarks (or I'm not anyway). I'm saying the fact that he has someone like that as an adviser is something to think about. If you choose someone to be your adviser, that means (in most cases) that you look up to them, respect their opinions, and for the most part, believe what they believe. I'm not going to pick someone that I have nothing in common with or disagree with on major issues to give me advice.

And if your only example of McCain's ignorance on foreign affairs is one slip of the tongue, please. If you expect someone that gives speeches every day not to slip up and misspeak every once in a while, then you're crazy.

And about Fox News: First off, CNN, MSNBC, and all the others are just as biased to the left as Fox is to the right. Second, a Clinton staff member said on air that Fox News is providing the most objective reporting of the Democratic race out of any of the major news channels. If the Clinton campaign believes that, then you have nothing to complain about.

Anything a religious fundamentalist says doesn't hold any value with me.
