Amen ensberg! And you'd think with all the crap that's being put out now, more people would start watching the old stuff...but nope, they just start liking the crap. When I tell people to watch a Jimmy Stewart movie, or Hitchcock, or McQueen, most of them give you the look and say ok like they're just patronizing you...luckily I have a few friends who know what good movies are too, so I save my in depth film conversations for them.
I think one of the main problems is older movies weren't non-stop action...when an older movie has a 30-second shot of the surroundings to set up a scene or, heaven forbid, actual dialogue, that's considered boring now. There can be no subtlety in a movie anymore, it has to be non-stop something happening. That's the way the whole world is though....
