Advice on Purchasing a New basketball box

    Hey everyone first post

Was looking to get advice on an unopened box to buy on ebay for lets say anywhere from $10-$40 with at least some chance of getting a real valueable card. Even if its a super slim chance...I've bought a few boxes before but most of the rarest cards only run up to like 15 dollars ;(.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

welcome to the site! it's okay, i moved the post for you :)

hmm for a box under 40 dollars... do you care what year? Do you like GU or Autos or does it matter?

also, don't limit yourself to ebay, there's some good sites out there that sell boxes at decent prices too. cardsbythebox.com is run by Enigma, and i think he offers free shipping if you are a SCF member.

edit: oh i see you started one in card talk, i will just delete that one and we'll stick with this one.

    no problem :)

GU just means Game Used... usually the hits in a box are Autos or Game Used cards with a piece of something on them (a patch, a piece of jersey, etc)

I am thinking 06-07 EX might be a good box for you. I didn't buy a box of this, but these cards are really cool, they are the plastic kinda cards. It looks like you get one autograph + one rookie autograph on average. Here's the item on dacardworld.com, it looks to be about $40. and i just remembered there is a $5 off coupon this month, so you could use that too.

well that's just my suggestion, hopefully some other people will chime in and then you can just decide from there. have fun!

what type of box is it? there is an ultra box with a GU or Auto in each pack.. i think it is 5 packs of 15 cards... if it is that one, then i think that sounds like a good deal.
