Tell you about the Nationwide race this year the Aaron's 312 at Dega. Me and my Dad went and had a great time and sat near the entrance to the pits on the top row of the bottem section. Had Jr fans to the left and right and in front of us. They looked at us when we were cheering when Tony won like how dare someone come to Dega and not root for Jr. This little old lady who had to be in her late 70's or older gave us a look that if looks could kill, it would have been a hard day on my mother losing her husband and oldest on the same day. I was honestly surprised Greg Biffle wasnt lynched or at least burned in effigy for hanging Jr out on the last lap.

I have been to tons of races and usually Gordon fans and Jr. fans are talking trash. I have been cussed at by drunk Gordon fans for nothing and have had beer thrown on me and others by Stewart and Gordon fans. I actually am a huge Jr. & Stewart fan so I would have been happy if I was there and Stewart won. I am from near where Stewart is from in Indiana! But I am always an Earnhardt fan first and foremost.
Most people are very passionate for their teams or drivers. The worst fans I have come across are Patriots, Red Sox, or Eagle fans!

I admit I have talked my fair share of trash at the track...never threw anything at anyone rather drink the beer then toss it LOL....dont worry me and my dad didnt allow others to ruin our fun or our cheering...
On Sunday there was an obnoxious fan of the #48 sitting maybe 6-7 rows in front of me...he was so bad other 48 fans were telling him to sit down and shut up...it actually allowed some comradere (I so cant spell) between fans of several drivers including fans of the 48...for the most part all in all at the end of the day NASCAR is one big family and as long as it was a good race we laugh it off and shake hands, congratulate the fans of the winning driver and ponder what could or should have been for ours...Ive been to races and other events like the old Winston Cup Preview event in Winston-Salem and Ive shared a beer and several storys with fans of all kind of drivers....we've teased and picked and laughed and had a good time....thats what sets NASCAR apart from the stick and ball sports...I've hit cards in packs and thought I bet I know someone who needs this for their collection...regardless if it was the old Yahoo group, sportscardsheriff, nuts or here, we've continued in that same spirit of NASCAR

I've only been to Darlington twice, and had all types of fans around me (Jr mostly, but Gordon, Johnson, Edwards, etc too). Not once did I see anything disrespectful there. Maybe it's because I only have limited experience at the track and not too much controversy at all there, but the fans at Darlington seem well grounded and respectful of each others opinions. If it wasn't like that, I don't think I could take my two kids there again this year. I guess it's a Dega thing...one day maybe I can go to a race there and see it for myself.

It was the last Southern 500 at Darlington that I had the beer spilled on me, I would have said something butI just moved b/c it was me and a buddy against 5-6 drunk guys. Usually I don't have a problem, I agree I would never waste a beer throwing it on someone, that should be against the law!! :)
If everyone liked the same guy then it would be boring and sports would not be as fun and wouldn't mean as much, I agree.
