Set Builders - 800 ct Boxes of Given Year-Brand to Trade!
Hello Fellow Traders,
I'm going to try something new: In my quest to reduce my card collection of 400,000+ to only 50,000 cards, my goal is to trade bulk cards as much as possible. So I've started by taking the superstars out of my 1986 Topps cards, leaving about 95% of the remaining cards, and I'd ideally like to trade them in minimum 800 ct boxes. I currently have 8 1/2 800 ct boxes so that's 6,800 cards to trade!
AND I'M GOING TO TRADE THEM AT 4-to-1 IN YOUR FAVOR AND I'M PAYING THE POSTAGE! I'm going to be doing this with all the cards that I have in quantity (basically 1981-1990, all brands), so if you desire a particular year-brand, please let me know.
So who would like to trade rookie cards, superstar cards, GU'd or autos for 800 to all 6,800 of these NM-MT 1986 cards?
Thanks!
Steve

I might be interested. What do you have in '81-'85 Topps?

Hi Randy,
I'd have to look, but I probably have about 5,000 to 10,000 cards from those years (including stars/rookies, if necessary). I remember buying boxes and boxes of 1984s when they hit the 7-11's!
Please let me know how I can help you best.
Take care,
Steve

For starters, could you put together an 800 ct box of '85 Topps without duplicates? What condition would they be in and what kind of trade value would you be looking for in return?

Hi Randy,
There would be some duplication in the boxes. For the most part, these cards came straight out of packs and into 800-ct boxes, so they would average NM to NM-MT, and would have some duplication.
As far as trade value, because only the top 5% of the cards have been pulled, there would be some minor stars and semi-stars included. So the trade value would be probably as follows:
800 cards x common price x 1.2 for some stars divided by 4 (trading in your favor)
So, as an example, if commons booked at a dime each, trade value would be:
800 x $0.10 x 1.2 / 4 = $24
I think I probably have about 1,000 1985 Topps available.
PLMK if you'd like to proceed and what you have to trade.
Take care!
Steve
