I sent a card out today. With insurance, is that as good as DC or what?

I just sent an insured package today and had to purchase DC to track. This is from the USPS website:

    Can insured mail be tracked?

Domestic insurance purchased by itself does not provide delivery information online or by phone. Customers must purchase other confirmation services, such as Delivery Confirmation™ or Signature Confirmation™, to obtain this information.

Not that I know of but maybe it can be tracked that the package was signed for. Still not sure, it might just be a code for pulling up the insurance purchased if a claim is filed.
