Question on SP Authentic

Just started collecting cards, so was looking on Ebay for some cheap stuff. Found some deals which I thought were decent, cuz the cards looked cool, just need to know what they're worth.

I bought:

2x sets of 2002 SP Authentic Base Set (1-90) for $6 (price includes s/h)
2x sets of 2003 SP Authentic Base Set (1-90) for $7 (price includes s/h)

Just wondering what the book value on each set is. Thanks for any help

Those base sets are inexpensive because they do not include any of the rookie cards, short prints, or insert cards that are the main reason people buy SP Authentic football. They are listed in Beckett for $20 (the 2002 set is, the 2003 isn't priced yet but should be exactly the same).

Well, being new to it all, $20 a set is good enough for me. So I take it these cards will most likely never go up in value?

Hey, what's going on? Well, so far I've ordered a few complete sets on EBay. Don't got too much money right now, so I'm starting fairly cheap. So far, I've ordered:

1987 Topps Complete Set
1988 Topps Complete Set
1989 Topps Complete Set
1989 Topps Traded Complete Set
1990 Score Complete Set
1990 Topps Complete Set
1997 Donruss Complete Set
2002 SP Authentic Base Set
2003 SP Authentic Base Set

But as far as new cards, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. My favorite team is the Raiders (weird coincidence you replied to me, huh), so maybe I'll try to get some of their cards. But I'm not really picky, there are so many players around the league that I want to collect. But the Raiders are a start I guess.
