    Need Computer Help

    I have a Compaq Presario 5000. It recently started loading up from 0 MB OK to 511 MB OK, and then asking for a Power-on Password, what do i do? any help is greatly appreciated.

    Is this a desktop or laptop? If you hit the enter key when the password prompt comes up what happens? A power on password is a way to keep people from using a machine. If you didn't set one then someone is playing a trick on you. Please enter serial number information in this thread.

    There's also usually a jumper on the motherboard you can change to clear a BIOS password. Check Compaq/HP's website for the manual.
