2008 Topps Moments and Milestones Hobby Box Break
Hey all, this is actually my first post, so if I do something wrong... I blame ignorance...

Anyway, yesterday I bought a hobby box of the 2008 Topps Moments and Milestones. I was pretty excited about this since Topps garuntees at least 18 inserts and 2 autos. The cards are beautiful looking with a great design that is quite eye catching. Each base card is serial numbered to 150 while the blue parallels are number to 10. The red parallels are 1/1.
I'll reply to this message later on with scans of the cards for all to see, sorry I don't have scans right off...
Well, after the excitement of breaking this box, I got some really good pulls. My two autos were a Ross Ohlendorf Rookie and Chin-Lung Hu Rookie. The Hu pull would have been great except the card was slightly damaged out of the pack
.
The other nice pull was a 1/1 Red Frank Thomas. Although its one of the cheaper 1/1's in the set, it was still nice to see one of the Red 1/1's.
Here's a complete listing of all the inserts and autos I pulled:
Black (numbered to 25)
175 Josh Banks RC
1-58 Alex Rodriguez
3-14 Frank Thomas
4-14 Mickey Mantle
6-48 Mickey Mantle
33-43 Jen Griffey Jr.
57-76 Derek Jeter
70-56 Robinson Cano
8-289 Greg Maddux
109-30 Jeremy Guthrie
117-15 Josh Hamilton
142-38 Daisuke Matsuzaka
85-383 Jim Thome
137-222 Tom Glavine
139-111 Miguel Cabrera
Blue (numbered to 10)
1-12 Alex Rodriguez
115-7 Eric Chavez
97-40 Derrek Lee
129-41 Carlos Pena
51-104 C.C. Sabathia
Red (numbered 1/1)
3-134 Frank Thomas
Autographs
CH Chin-Lung Hu RC
RO Ross Ohlendorf RC
Overall, I definitely got my moneys worth and would highly recommend this set just based on the sleek style of the card design. Add in the great pulls that will usually come with this box, it becomes worth more than the $80+!!!

Welcome to SCF.
Topps is good about replacing damaged cards, if you call them they'll tell you what to do. (Typically return the card with a note about it being damaged, the UPC, and a receipt).
If you have any base of Beltran, Wright, Reyes, or Vlad that you're willing to trade, PLMK, as I'm going for the set.

Yup, you were right, I called them and they told me what to do and I should get my card back in 3-4 weeks. I'll have to check my base cards, I'm pretty sure I remember Vlad in there but can't remember if I saw any of the others...

I usually get them back within a week or two, so there's a chance they're just padding the time to be safe.
Let me know about the Vlad and potential others if you get a chance, no hurry.
Thanks,
Andrew

Great box break and nice 1/1. I love Milestones and have been lucky pulling 3 1/1's myself. LMK if you're going to move the Arods #/10 and #/25. I'd also be interested in any of the base Arods #/150 if I don't have them
Thanks
Don

I think you're thinking of last year's, which went nuts when the set came out.
