    This is why I drive...

My sister, brother-in-law, and his family went to Mazatlan on vacation nine days ago. Leaving the country was easy enough, but coming back in was pretty difficult. Going through customs, my sister was told to get her bags and go sit down--my brother-in-law was escorted to a small room. Turns out he's a terrorist; name's on the restricted list and he's not permitted to enter this country. Mind you, he's lived here all his life. After much interrogation (and an escorted trip to the bathroom!), they realized it was a mistake and let him go. National Security at its best, my friends.

That would have been scary. How do they mistake someone for someone else.. weird. I'd be pretty mad.

I'm mad, that's for sure. I've got to drive my niece and nephew over to their house tonight (they will be getting home at around 4:30am now), wake up at 5:30, drive two hours to get Obama tickets (see other thread), and come back for work immediately thereafter... at least I was able to get out of the morning shift.

I wonder if they actually catch terrorists that way instead of passing out a survey:

    Are you a terrorist?

Check A if YES, and B if NO.

Seems like the survey route would save a lot of money, too. But it may cost a couple trees innocent lives.

I suppose it is coincidence, then, that he has Middle-eastern facial features? Racial profiling is seldom effective, as stated by a retired airline security agent. I've got one of her short essays somewhere--I'll see if I can dig it up.

Your post is uncomprehendible and, thus, largely unnecessary. I don't recall suggesting a survey...

I should have mentioned that we could not find a known terrorist with the same name or alias.

Just goes to show you that you're damned if you weren't born with white skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes.

Is uncomprehendible anything like incomprehensible? If so, I can see why.

And why would YOU be privy to a known terrorist list? Do you work for INS, FBI, CIA or DHS?

Realized I made what many consider to be a mistake after I posted, but, to my fault, criticism beat me to it. No biggie. I won't bother looking it up, I'll let you do it while I shake my head.

Actually, you would be surprised to know that the UN released a pretty extensive (though it doesn't include every one of the 300,000+) list of known terrorists on the UNSC website.

Also, I talked to them this morning, and customs security admitted to misreading my brother-in-law's name.

What the hell... I'll show you anyway:

    uncomprehensible

    adjective
    difficult to understand

So I guess the answer is yes, it is something like incomprehensible.
