American Idol is for weak minded drones. Yes, there might be a good majority of the voting audience under the age of 18 but this is just silly.

You have to think are these people disgruntled or just drones? Are they disenchanted with the whole process of fake voting? I know I am, who the flock needs a superdelegate or electoral college to vote for me. It's enough to make want to not vote. Aargh.

I will never understand the appeal of American Idol. All I've seen of it are commercials and that was enough to turn me off for life.

I think a lot of people don't vote because they know it doesn't count, If you are in a red state and vote dem. What is the point and vice versa. The first thing they have to do is get rid of the electoral college or make it a pecentage thing instead of winner take all. then they need to come up with a universal voting system that is the same in all states, same way to vote (WITH a paper trail) , same style ballots, same qualifications (if you have to show ID in one state then make it mandatory in all..

this will offend people but I think people who vote for a certain party shouldn't be allowed to vote:) If you vote for someone that you do not agree with just because they are a Rep. Or Dem. is just stupid. That is why I have no problem with people who do not vote (and should still be allowed to *****).. If you don't agree with either candidate why would you vote for one? I will vote in local elections but probably not the presidential election because I don't agree with Obama or Mccain (I've voted in 3 presidential elections Dem/Rep/Dem)

I didn't vote in the primary because it's closed in Pa you have to be registered one party or another independants can not vote and to be honest none of the candidates floated my boat enough to switch my affiliation..

If your one of the 30 percent of people who believe obama is a muslim or one of the 21 percent who think mccain can not be because he is to old then maybe you shouldn't vote:)

just my .02 cents and I haven't seen an episode of American Idol if I wanted to see terrible Caryokie(sp) then I'd go to the bar.. I think they should have a serious reality show, stick criminals on an island with a cannibal and they have to figure out who it is before he eats them all (that I might watch)...

Very true...I never understood counting the votes in one state and saying majority wins, we vote this way. Then take the majority of the states who took the majority....why not just take the majority of the people's votes. Very strange.

then they need to come up with a universal voting system that is the same in all states, same way to vote (WITH a paper trail) , same style ballots, same qualifications (if you have to show ID in one state then make it mandatory in all..

I agree with that 100%. It baffles me how we have hanging chad debacles and how some states/counties can have results pretty quick and then others take forever. Why would something as important as voting not be standardized? It's madness!

Not only would that get rid of straight ticket voting for the sake of straight ticket voting, which I hate also, but it would make people do some research. It's amazing how people will just vote without knowing what they're voting for...frightening.

That does sound pretty interesting...maybe you should pitch that one to Fox. I think they would eat that idea up with a spoon!
