We, in the midwest, took the ACT which I think was on a scale of 32 or something. I got a 23 back in 1993. Quite weak. But whatever, I got into every school I applied to.

I have the option of taking the ACT next year as well. I probably will, because it includes history (which I do pretty well in) and science (I will be taking AP Biology next year). I think it will be easier to gauge my true talent from the ACT.

I've heard some colleges take the SAT score pretty seriously, but I hope they take my 95+ overall GPA for high school into consideration just as much.

I heard that the ACT and SAT hold the same amount for every college, with the ACT being a little easier and less time consuming. If I had the ACT option (counselor wanted everyone to take the SAT) I would've gone for it.

I scored a lousy 1150 (average) on my SATs (out of 1600) in a really bad time in my life and I still got into every school I applied for. I don't think they really care as much as they used to. I didn't apply to all public colleges that take anyone either :)

I took it twice in 2000 when it was on a 1600-point scale and my best composite score was 1520. That's a 760 on both verbal and math, but not within the same administration. Best single-administration score was 1510.

I also have a high score of 1500 on the GRE (also on a 1600-point scale).

    My score was 1840:
    620 Math
    620 Reading
    600 Writing

    Taking it again June 7th.

1460/1600 in 9th grade. Never bothered to retake because when I took it, it was my birthday and I was very ill with bronchitis and pneumonia. Probably should have. Very big regret in life, and I'm tempted to do so even now that the scoring is changed and being a grandma in her 50s.

ACT is only "easier," as I understand it, because testing subject matter is tailored to your individual aptitude.
