Election thougths
The Dems are in love with obama and with that they find the one way to blow the election that was a give away a year ago. It's not that obama is a terrible candidate he just thinks he can change the map and as long as the STUPID AND OUTDATED electoral college is in play the truth is there are at most 3 states that can change and acutally matter and he won't win those..
Mccain if/when he wins will be no more than a figure head, the Dems will have a veto proof majority in the House and have 53-55 senators so no matter what mccain says he will have no more power then the queen of england.
Bush may be the Dems secret weapon, if they can get most people to believe that Mccain is Bush jr then they have a chance but I see mccain running from him (or at lest like today not being seen with him by reporters or cameras)..
If Jesse Ventura makes a run and wins the Min. senate seat he can become one of the most powerful men in the senate as both sides will be trying to get him aboard.
I think if Barr gets on 48 states as he plans then it will def. have an effect on Mccain as conservatives will have someone else to vote for.
If they turn the debate to Iraq and foreign policies I think Obama has a GREAT chance to take the one think Mccain has going for him away. He can say "The war was a mistake, it made us less safe and created more terrorists and I was against it from the start" and when Mccain says he will not surrender obama should ask "To Who" and make him clarify who he believes we are fighting over there since Mccain has screwed up more then once confusing suni and Shiite..
All that said I see Mccain winning and the US being in a stand still for the next 4 years allowing Clinton run in 4 years..
Mccain in the white house with his finger on the button scares the hell out of me a lot more then anyone else and we would end up in another world war if he made the mistake of attacking Iran..

"The button" isn't so significant anymore. Last I read most of our strategic nukes that were aimed at Russia are now pointed at random spots in the ocean. Those damned humpback whales better not get too cocky!

Sunni ™™™™e are both butt crack crazy. The mind set of the people over there is something that you can't understand until you are there in the mix. Stay here(US) and make assumptions. You know the ones that most Americans make,
"Oh we can change them for the better!"
Guess what? You can't change them, there mindset is so embedded into them that it's sickening. Sort of like the Balkans where they have been killing each other for centuries.
Soap box is yours again. Thanks

Yes and they will be crazy after we leave(like most religious fanatics) whenever that is, my comment was how mccain confused them.
I'm sorry but I'm one of the ones that believe Iraq and the world was a better and safer place with Hussein in power and it will take a dictator like that to control the country after we leave. You can not end a religious war at the end of a gun (especially one that went on for 1,000 years).
I don't think you have to be there I think all you have to do is look at the history between the 2 to realize that the only way they will stop fighting is if one of them is no longer in existance (or we keep paying them like we are
)
I don't know why they just don't break the country up into 3 regions with baghdad as the capital like one of the Presidential candidates wanted (the one who was a white male and didn't stand a chance
)..
could just be me I've been up for 96 hours so I'm a little out of it
