This is terrible and the teacher should be fired no questions asked because obviously she does not know how to provide a safe, encouraging, effective learning environment.

That being said, I almost guarantee this kid is a holy terror and causes a lot of problems. "She admits he's had behavior problems, and can be difficult at times." In a situation like this, if the mom admits he's a problem (to the media no less), then that means the kid is most likely being a complete disruption and can not be handled in a classroom setting. No, that's no excuse for the teacher's actions, but the kid should have been in some sort of special needs class to begin with. Either the parents, teachers, administrators, or all of the above have failed in getting this kid where he needs to be.

Yes, he is a problem but should have handled it in a much differently way.

I was reading this in another newspaper and they said that he was on special needs classes. Anyway, the teacher should know about this before he even starts taking classes. There is no way anyone should acceot this kind of behavior from a teacher

Absolutely unconscienable unacceptable behavior on the teacher's part. Imo she should never be allowed unsupervised contact with any child ever again. It's kind of like when the catholic church just shuffled around the pedophile priests, she has been "transferred". Why in the hell are people like this allowed to abuse our kids over and over again ???? Totally outrageous !!

Unfortunately I know the answer. It's the whole politically correct crap and everything that goes along with it. We wouldn't want to step on HER civil rights. We certainly wouldn't want to call her what she is and make HER feel bad, she's probably just "misunderstood". She's a person too and deserves respect, right ? NOT !

And, the whole politically correct movement is likely what had this disturbed child sharing a classroom with all the other children. Heaven forbid he and everyone else knows and accepts what/who he really is. All children/people are the same and should be treated exactly the same way at all times, right ? NOT ! People are different and if someone has such major differences that they disrupt everyone around them they need to be segregated at times. Imo, especially children.

Any doubt how absolutely crazy things have gotten all you have to do is look at the democratic party's leading presidential candidate. People started using his middle name, as they do with all the presidential hopefuls, and he starts whiiiiiiining, "they're picking on me". He goes to the middle east and dresses in arab garb and starts whiiiiiining again when the press showed the pictures. WTH !! Is it now unacceptable to call/show something for what it truly is ? Is the truth dead ?

yes this is completely ridiculous. In any circumstances, teacher should find ways to protect and make peaceful classes not vote out one kid out from the class.
But I wish we have more information about this kid's behavior.
Without any information about that issue, it is hard to take sides.
But either way, teacher should never have done that.

Even with the kid having behavior problems it gives no excuse for the teacher to do what she did..

My 10 yead old Daughter is Autistic and has other medical problems and is in special education classes..If one of her teachers ever did something like that to her they would have to drag me out of her school in handcuffs because I would be at her school in a heartbeat..Thanks Ed
