Devastation
I've lived in the midwest (Iowa) for seven years, moved here from New Hampshire. I've seen some crazy storms but nothing prepared me for last Sunday.
I've always wanted to see a tornado in action, gotta be cool right? Not! Iowa got hit by an EF5 (winds over 210 miles an hour) late Sunday afternoon. It took out a small town called Parkersburg, then moved northeast to my town, Dunkerton. Parkersburg lost over 200 homes and had moderate to severe damage to another 200. There was an accountant that lost his business and they found tax records in Wisconsin. 8 people from that area lost their lives. They found a cow stuck in the ground...head first.
The tornado then tracked for my town, hitting the northwest side which was mostly farms and the occasional home. When it left my town 4 farms were gone, several more sustained heavy damage and several homes were lost. I got lucky...a few miles further east and my house would've been gone.

A tornado is like an atomic bomb. They look really cool on film but you sure as hell don't wanna be anywhere close to them in real life.
