Recount
Finally got around to watching it I am suprised it took this long for anyone to make a movie about this time. I love Denis Leary (and loved how they made k. Harris look).. It was a good movie with real cut in news clips 75% of the stuff in the movie was common knowledge to anyone watching but there were a few things I didn't see the first time around when it was going on.
The sad thing is with all the missing ballots, machine malfunctions and voters who were not allowed to vote because of K. Harris we will never know who would have won the election and for the greatest "True" Democracy we became a laughing stock..

That goes back to a point you made in another thread about standardizing voting procedures. I was baffled at the time how something as important as a Presidential election could have so many things going wrong. They really need to overhaul the whole voting system and have everything standardized. Why, in the election for the national president, would the federal government let each state set up their own voting procedures?
I haven't seen the movie, so I can't speak to that. I've seen it on HBO a few times recently, but I watch very little tv any more and I try to keep it to sports, action, or light comedies when I do.

Your vote means nothing. The Electoral College is the one that picks the winner, pretty sweet huh?

Great Movie but it shows one thing...... Other then the gung ho lawyer Gore, Warren Christopher wanted to throw in the towel a long time before all the events unfolded. The way it happened was amazing and be glad you live in a government you do because in other countrys something like this could of caused a civil war!!

In this case the supreme court helped pick the winner and if they dispute the votes until Dec 12th then it doesn't matter the outcome the state house votes on who the winner is..

As he said in the end their one mistake was not asking for a state wide recount from the beginning.
Some of the things were interesting
18 districts didn't recount the ballots first time around
20,000 people were not allowed to vote because of K. Harris
Christoper didn't even want to fight and if he stayed on probably would have conceded a lot earlier
The big one was the Supreme court making the ruling then saying it was a one time ruling and that Bush V Gore could not be used again.
I LOVED the argument at the supreme court where they used George Bush law against him he signed when gov. of Texas about dimpled chad
