I'm still alive!

I haven't been on here much lately. I've got a lot to catch up on!

I have worked in the concession stand at the pool for 3 summers. This year we have a new mayor and he said that no one from last year was coming back. No one did their job. (except for Ash and me) so I was worried. Then I found out I get to work there for a 4th summer!!!!!

I've been working all day, everyday. We've had to paint the concession stand and clean it. It was terrible before. I also helped paint the pool!! That was hard work! been doing a lot to get the pool ready to open. We're hoping to open in the morning!!

This year we're having a lot more food options! Just had hotdogs, nachos, chips, candy, and ice cream last year. We have all of that plus giant pretzels, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, corndogs, french fries, and chicken this year!

The mayor owns the drug store and there's a soda fountain in it. We were there for lunch today and he came out to talk to us. He bought our lunch for working so hard on the pool! I was surprised! And we heard from someone who over heard him talking, that me, ash, my mom, and another woman we work with are getting a raise!!! not for sure yet, but it's a possibility! FINALLY someone is noticing how hard i have worked there. it's nice to finally feel appreciated for it!

I'm glad all the getting ready stuff is over. I can't wait to actually start the actual work. I should be on here more now since I won't be working alllll day now! :)

I agree whole-heartedly! I'm 19, and none of my friends like to work period, let alone work hard....I love being able to tackle a task, and look at it once it's done and think "Wow, I did that!"

I couldnt find any recent pictures...just old ones from back years and years and years ago..but there is a video that shows it..upper right corner.

I agree whole-heartedly! I'm 19, and none of my friends like to work period, let alone work hard....I love being able to tackle a task, and look at it once it's done and think "Wow, I did that!"

No one our age wants to work. They just want to be lazy, lets others do the work, and get paid. And somehow, they always get by with it!! I could never do that. I love to work. It makes me feel accomplished and like I've done something other than just sit around.


Haha, Michael's right. It's a huge pool! It used to be one of the biggest in the country.
