I read about this and was disgusted. People don't respect the elderly these days, it seems.

I don't think it is simply an elderly issue. That could have been a 20 year old and these people would have just walked on by. This is just another reason I prefer smaller towns to live in. This also shows how our society has become numb to things like this due to violent video games, easy access to beatings/death videos on the internet and the news showing negative news most of the time.

It's horrible to see that some people only care about themselves. It has come down too for most people thinking "If I don't know the person in need, I don't need to help them" and that's disgusting.
