Operation Save 2008
This isnt totally about racing but wanted to let everyone know about an event I am putting together to raise money for the Duke Children's Miracle Network. I live in Elizabethtown NC and a couple of you know that I am an asst. Manager for Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is a big supporter for he Duke CMN and every year we try to raise money for them. Well, this year I decided to put on a huge event and here is a quick run down of whats going on.
Event Name: Operation Save 2008 "Saving Mother Earth and Her Children One Step at a Time"
Date: July 12,2008
Time: 7am-2pm and 7pm-10pm
For: Duke Children's Miracle Network
7am-2pm Fund Raiser and Go Green for Community
Associates,Local churches, groups etc will be setting up selling bake goods, crafts, etc and part of the money will go to CMN.
Different outfits will be on hand helping the community get involved in helping the enviroment by distributing programs etc to the public. We will be having recycling bins set up for the following.
Cell phones
Plastics
Electronics
Ink Cart's
Old Sneakers
and many more
There will be a silent auction as well. Many local business' as well as colleges,nascar teams and pro teams have donated items for the auction. Items like...
Tire/Hat/Photo signed by Richard Petty with COA
Duke Football signed by Coach Cutcliffe and entire 07 team
Duke Poster Signed by the 07 Basketball team
Carolina Panthers Signed football signed by entire 07 team
Book signed by Janet Guthrie
Autograph photos from JJ Dillion, Coach Tommy Bowyers
and much much more
Also there will be an autograph session so far we will have the following people there

That night from 7pm-10pm we will have Professional Wrestling Mid-Atlantic on hand at one of our local high schools to put on a great show for us. Main event will be Ricky Morton against Bobby Eaton "25 year feud going strong"
Just wanted to let everyone know so if anyone is close and would like to come please do so. Its for a great cause and its going to be alot of fun. Wish me luck on this thing...Its taking alot out of me. I work 3rd shift so when I am awake I have been working nonstop on it. I have a good feeling God WIlling it will pay off in the long run.

That sounds cool. If I still lived in NC, I would go. I also work for Wal-Mart and they do support the CMN alot. The hard work will definatly pay off. Should be tons of fun for everyone.
