1990 Pro Set
Hi first post in football form. Being as I know nothing about football cards and have no price guides for football i was wondering if someone could tell me what the book value is on a 1990 Pro Set Superbowl Supermen. Set has 151 cards and I think 2 subsets 1 being cards that look like superbowl tickets the other I don't remember. Seen this at a garage sale and liked the look of it.Any help would be appreciated. Grade of cards would be mint or near mint

WOW didn't think it would be that low. Glad I didn't buy it when I saw it but may now for a buck or two. Is 1990 the first year that everything was over produced? Thanks for the info.

Yea pretty much. Prior to 1989 it was pretty much Topps ( Fleer had "action" sets they put out). In 1989 you had Pro Set and Score enter the scene and in 1990 Action Packed and Fleer joined in. The hobby started to take off then and the card companies produced accordingly. Pro Set seemed to really overproduce their cards, that's why they are so cheap now. Personally I like the action shots on the Pro Set cards back then. For some reason the player really seems to stand out. Hope this helps and good luck.

If I remember right, the wrappers said that there were almost a million copies of each card.

I love the design of 1989 Pro Set. Its too bad they aren't still around to make a throwback set.
