Free Agent QB Culpepper Turned Down Contract Offer From Packers

Smart move no way he would start over Rogers

Free Agent QB Culpepper Turned Down Contract Offer From Packers

Pete Dougherty, Green Bay Press-Gazette -

Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson reportedly offered free agent quarterback Daunte Culpepper a one-year, $1 million contract earlier in the off-season. However, Culpepper turned the offer down. "Daunte's a good guy," WR Donald Driver said, "but I guess he felt like he wanted to come in and vie for a starting spot and (the Packers) already knew who their starting quarterback was. So what do you do? They felt like if he didn't want the title to be a backup, you have to move on."

One million for one year? How much is that per fumble? lol

He's almost as bad as Tony Eason was...falling down because he thought he was going to get hit...does anyone remember who was drafted after Eason!

He needs to prove he can start before asking too. He looked terrible in miami and oakland.

Culpepper Has To Be Put In A Almost Perfect Situation To Be Effective.....he Needs A Great Line, A Decent Back, And 2 Recievers, By Needing All That He Want Ever Be A Starter Again. He Should Have Signed That A Deal And If Rogers Went Down, He Could Have Prooven Himself And Maybe Competed For A Startin Job Somewhere Else Next Year. He Screwed Up In Minnesota When He Didnt Fight To Keep Moss On The Team......he Thought He Was The Man...and He Still Thinks He Is, Turning Down A Spot When Obviously Noone Really Wants Him

He would be a solid backup to Romo in Dallas. Or he can go to TB. I'm sure Gruden wouldn't mind another QB on the team.

tampa bay still has a log jam at qb.. they have griese, luke mckown, chris simms and garcia as the starter.. there is no way they should bring in another qb( although i think it would be a good fit) and the dallas backjob is wide open, that might be the job he is waitin for....but who would you sign first culpepper or leftwich, i say neither but they should have a backup job somewhere in the league
