Topps 08-09 Draft Class Exclusive Autos
Michael Beasley, Derrick Rose, Jerryd Bayless, OJ Mayo, Brook Lopez, Eric Gordon and Kevin Love will be signing cards for Topps that will go on sale exclusively at Topps.com on June 27th if anyone is interested.

That's great news. This means collectors can get autos of all the best players in the draft from Topps products. Upper Deck can't hold collectors ransom like they did this year with having Durant signed to an exclusive deal.

... or the year before with Roy & others, ha. You know, I read that again though and it has an asterisk beside the players names and if you read the fine print, it says players subject to change or something like that. Hmm.....

I have a hypothetical question. What would the hobby be like if Upper Deck didn't have exclusive contracts with Michael Jordan & Lebron James? What if Upper Deck had to compete with the collectability of their cards instead of having the advantage of being the only place for Jordan or Lebron autos? I think the hobby would be much better.

Upper Deck would probably be out of business. :) Or, at least, would have had to change for the better over the years.
