collecting basketball boxes?
does anyone here collect basketball wax boxes for fun or profit?
ive seen it done like on ebay where someone finally sells there product that was sitting in the closet for 10 years or so think it would rise in price maybe.
what draft years do you collect if you do or which has the most potential?

I once did, except I stored my cards in them. Then I got sick of not being able to remember where they all were, so I re-organized them into several three-column, 2400-card boxes. That takes up less space and makes it easier to find any given card. I don't really see the point of keeping the old boxes, unless they have some intrinsic value like the wooden ones from Exquisite.

i wasnt talking about that.i should have been more clear.sealed wax boxes.
i actually am putting base cards in the opened wax boxes now until i get some card shoe boxes.still kinda organized in that fashion but still need the room of a larger box.currently putting base cards in the wax boxes, then the wax goes into actual shoe boxes.nike, timberland ones.

there's some nice boxes at craft stores for pretty cheap, usually $1.50 or so. i found one once with a basketball design on it too, they're called "photo storage boxes"
anyway, i think a lot of people buy boxes to cash in later, probably on the years they think have the best drafts.
the only thing that sucks for the buyer is that often the cards are all stuck together after sitting in storage for so long. i don't think many cards are made to withstand that much time inside packs.

GAI actually grades unopened boxes. I've seen quite a few unopened 86-87 Fleer ones in cinderblock-sized plastic holders. Why you'd want to get the whole box graded when it may contain two or three Jordan rookies is beyond me.
