It's the idiots in Congress who insist that we not drill our own oil. We pay double for other countries' oil, and since virtually every business needs oil to operate, they just pass that additional cost on to the consumers.
Why is it that the United States is the only developed country whose government tries to pit consumer versus oil company? In Saudi Arabia, the oil companies, consumers, and government work together. The US Congress is so stupid. This SCF forum has better points made than the floor of the House.
