Pacers' Williams on "Thin Ice"
INDIANAPOLIS -- Police arrested a passenger in a car driven by Shawne Williams of the Indiana Pacers for marijuana possession, an incident that team president Larry Bird said jeopardizes the forward's future with the Pacers.
Williams was not arrested but was written up for a window tint and seat belt violation after the police stop about 6 p.m. Friday in Carmel, said Lt. Jeff Horner, a spokesman for police in the northern Indianapolis suburb. The car did not belong to Williams.

i don't recognize his name, but it looks like Bird is having a no tolerance policy on this kind of thing. nba players sure love to get caught for this (or talk about it).

David Harrison.. Williams.. man the Pacers are a bad group. I think this Jack trade was just what they needed. Get Tinsley out of there. With Hibbert coming in Harrison is good as gone. Between Jack and Dunleavy I think this can become a good character team.

Is this the second time Williams has been caught in trouble with the law? I seem to recall a prior incident.

On September 11, 2007, Williams was arrested in Indianapolis, Indiana on a charge of possession of marijuana. Two passengers in Williams' car were also arrested. One was charged with possession of marijuana, the other was charged with possession of a stolen handgun.
