How To Spot A Fake 1991 Score Brett Favre Rookie #611
Brett Favre is one of the most collected sports figures of our time. Recently, it has been discovered that there are fake versions of his 1991 Score #611 Rookie card. Below is some information about how to spot a fake.
The front of the fake card is actually pretty close the real copy. The Score logo has been recreated to resemble the original and the image is not too far off from the real thing.
On a fake version there will be no card number. The number 611 is missing.
There is a very muddy-looking NFLPA logo. The logo is so sloppy the the point where it is unreadable under a magnifying glass.
The gold border on the back of a fake is also slightly off from the normal color.
The best way for you to make sure you are buying the real thing is to get a look at the back of the card. Usually in an online auction people only show the front of the card which would make it easy for them to pass off a fake. Get a picture of the back or you could buy one that is graded and/or certified by PSA, BGS, GAI or SGC.
