Everyone in my family knew Irvin would get killed (one guy in my family said that he couldn't believe management allowed this fight to happen and that it was the biggest mismatch in UFC history)- guy is big with no skills whatsoever. We all laughed when he talked about being so much bigger than Silva (they tested out at the exact same height and weight, lol). Anyone who remembers his joke of a fight with Hector Ramirez (most hilarious and ridiculous UFC fight I can remember) knows that he only won in the past because of some blows. Thing is with Silva is that he can not only hit, but he has a whole variety of other skills as well. A few seconds blowout; how exciting and predictable. I can see why this was not pay per view.

Yeah if Is that was on Pay-per-view, and I paid for it, I would have been pretty upset. A guy like that isnt going to last long with Silva. They ended up having to add in that extra fight at the end to take up time. It was short too but one of the better ones of the night (Good KO kick). The Silva vs Irvin fight was entertaining while it lasted, but a terrible matchup. Still better than whatever that other MMA thing was. The UFC and WEC are far better than any of the other leagues.

not really sure what you all expected......it was supposed to be a lopsided fight, lol......silva moved up in weight, they weren't gonna throw him in there against the iceman or rashad evans, lol......irvin posed no threat to silva at all, and thats alot of the reason it was a free event (also no title fights)

im more disappointed in anderson's comments after the fight.....id love to see him persue the belt at 205, but seems he's content defending his middleweight belt......its real tough to train/compete consistantly in 2 different weight classes, and i think it will be some time before we see the spider fighting the elite at 205
