Former Formula 1 driver Scott Speed hopes to make his NASCAR Sprint Cup debut before the 2008 season is over.

In an interview to Autosport magazine, the Californian revealed that he will test a Red Bull Racing Sprint Cup Toyota Camry later this month. Speed also said that his main focus will be racing full-time in the Craftsman Truck Series next year, pairing thatcampaign with occasional Cup outings.

"I'm about to start testing, proper testing, in a Cup car with Brian Vickers," Speed said. "The car is quite a bit different from the Truck, but if it goes well, and I think I should be able to adapt, then we can go racing."
Speed is racing in ARCA and Trucks this season, having won one race on each series.

It'll be so awesome to see a third Red Bull car out on the track..even though it wont be sponsored by Red Bull. Now I guess I gotta start cheerin for Scott Speed too!
