Sly Fox
any thoughts on this song? I like Nas regardless of what he has to say, but I'd love to hear from people who don't particularly like rap music, or even better, those who watch Fox News religiously!

Huh? Big Brother is watching? Two Fox stations on TV, and it's now Big Brother? How about Disney's ownership of ABC and ESPN? NBC has three stations. You can't keep away from Fox on the TV? There are only two stations!
If this dude is realy worried about Big Brother, he should look no further than Obama who wants the government to have a fully regulated country. He calls it "helping." You can catch that on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, or CNBC. But not the two Fox channels.

I love how Fox is to blame for everything wrong in the country.
When the lead story on the NBC nighly news is about how a new McCain ad has Spears and Hilton in it and its racial overtones and you still have the nerve to complain about Fox then we all no where those people stand.
THere is no reasoning with people who view the us (blacks) vs them (evil white america) mentality.
The far extremes of both the libs and cons are make this country a crappy place.
If the Jerimiah Wright's/Keith Olbermann's and James Haggee's/Michael Savages of the world vanished tomorrow we would be a better planet.

I take it you guys don't really like the song?

I confess, I honestly have no idea what that means...
Obviously the point of the song is to attack Fox News...but dont get it twisted and assume that he's saying everything thats wrong in the world is because of Fox...he's just telling people why he feels Fox News is slanted and racist...but he also says in the song that when he watches CBS, he sees BS...and I gotta give him props for standing behind what he believes...he collected over 620,000 signatures and delivered a petition to Fox News to end the racist comments, which of course they didn't accept
The song would probably have never been made if not for O'Reilly and the rest of the network blasting him for being invited to perform at VT...and for what he planned on naming his new album...he's also pissed because O'Reilly goes out of his way to call out rappers disproportionately...he pressured Pepsi into dropping Ludacris from an endorsement deal, only to be replaced by Ozzy Osbourne...he bashes Snoop as a drug dealer (a conviction when he was 18, almost 20 years ago) rather than a drug user (avid marijuana smoker)and for carrying a gun (like millions of people in America dont own guns)
Why not? Are you black? I'm only asking because it's hard to judge someones perspective when you're not in their shoes. I think black people have a very valid reason, even to this day, to fear "evil white america"...which doesn't necessarily mean caucasians, more the "powers that be"...just remember, it's only been 40 years since Martin Luther King was assassinated for what he stood for...that's not a long time at all...40 years ago Joe Paterno was the head coach at Penn State University...
No disrespect intended, but that sounds pretty extreme...whether you like what they believe or not, they can still be an inspiration to somebody...I lean more towards the world would be a better place if people actually took the time to see things from a different perspective, were more tolerant of different views...no matter how extreme...you can still conclude that they are loony, but no need to start making people vanish
Anyway...I do appreciate you guys taking the time to listen to the song and leave a response!

What racist comments from Fox are you referring to? Why would a nationally televised TV station venture into that touchy area?
I think it's a disgrace to even compare what happened to Dr. King with the events today. What do black people have to be afraid of? I think the media fuels racism by commenting on it all the time. It's such a stupid subject. If I like you, then I like you. I don't care if you black, or Mexican, or whatever. I bet 90% of the country feels the same.

Just do some research into the comments you will find them. Bill O has made several and there was even a reporter who confused Osama and Obama then made the comment "Oh well they should both be assasinated anyway"
They run stuff saying how Obama is not a muslim then have captions on the the screen saying he was raised a muslim, attended muslim church, father in law a muslim etc. And the morning crew on Fox News is the dumbest group of people on TV, they should hire real reporters instead of beauty queens..
If your conservative you'll watch Bill O and Hannity and if your liberal you'll watch Olberman it's that simple. I used to watch both untill someone sent me some VERY interesting clips of Bill O now I won't watch him anymore..

sorry I didn't respond to you earlier Daniel...
I was not trying to compare racism today as if it was still 40 years ago when MLK was assassinated...I was saying that 40 years ago is not very long, and there are people who still have very vivid memories of those times, which might lead some to be skeptical of the "evil white america" you mentioned
Definitely do some research on Faux News like streicher said, because they are very "sly" with some of their comments, the questions that are asked of people, their tactics of yelling "Shut up" or "Cut off the mike" for certain opinions they disagree with, or some of the slogans they run across the bottom of the screen...
One that jumps to mind right away is when they labeled Obamas wife as his "baby mama", rather than his wife...a baby mama is never a wife, and can only be interpreted as extremely disrespectful, if not down right racist
