Favre just filed his reinstatement papers. What happens now?

Okay, now he has to report unless the Packers release him or trade him. It doesn't appear either of those options are going to happen anytime soon. So, here is my advice.

LET'S FORGET ABOUT AARON RODGERS!!!! The Rodgers era isn't going to begin as long as Brett Favre is still around. The Packers can't keep Favre as a backup. That will never work. I mean, everytime Rodgers throws an incomplete pass, the crowd is going to be riding him hard. How can that possibly work? Am I right?

And besides, I don't think Green Bay is going to have to worry about a QB for at least 3 more seasons. I fully expect Brett to finish out his contract. It's apparent he doesn't like retirement. And, I don't think is so far-fetched to see him play well into his 40's. You got to remember, most NFL players that reach the age of Favre have already lost 2 or 3 seasons to injury. Favre has lost 0 games. He's healthy enough to do it. So, unless a fluke-injury happens (which you could say the same about Aaron Rodgers), Favre WILL play those 3 seasons.

So, let's move on over (Again...) Rodgers and make room for Brett.

Now, with that said....Welcome back Brett Favre.

If it were up to Green Bay....You would be right, but I don't think they have any other options but to play him.

You're wrong. The fans don't decide who should be at QB. Rodgers only has 2 years left on his contract. He was drafted 3 years ago! The Packers have to know whether or not he is their future QB. If Favre was a real team player, he would accept this and backup the youngster.

Lol, one of the greatest QBs ever accept being a backup when he only has a few years left. Thats one of the dumbest things Ive ever heard.

Look, I'm not saying Favre is right on this one or he is doing the best thing for the team....And I am also not saying the fans are going to decide who is the starter. I'm simply saying, there is NO WAY you could play to your full potential with the crowd riding you like the crowd will ride Rodgers everytime he doesn't make the play.

And besides, you can't honestly tell me the Packers are a better team with Rodgers at QB?

Green Bay has the team to WIN the Superbowl this season if they have Brett Favre. Last time I checked, the GM's job was to put the best players on the field. I would think that would mean Brett Favre.

And you know what? By playing Favre, yeah we might lose Aaron Rodgers. That's a possibility. But by playing Rodgers, we won't come anywhere close to the Superbowl. I'd trade Aaron Rodgers for a chance to win a superbowl anyday.

Whoa....Never once said Aaron can't play. I simply stated it won't be in Green Bay. I wish him the best of luck in the future, but it's not his time as long as Brett Favre wants to play.

see that's what i don't get about packer fans...how can you still be a "fan" of brett favre..ooohhh that's right he was in the league for almost 2 decades so that gives him the go ahead to play for anybody he wants and to just kick around other qb's...i have no more respect for favre as i don't think he's a "class act"..for all i care the packers could go and help him pack his bags right now

lets get serious. would Tom Brady or Peyton Manning accept a role as a backup if they were in the same position as Favre? i think not. Aaron Rodgers may very well be able to play, but Favre has the track record. No one in there right mind is going to bench Favre over a guy who hasnt started a game. & for all its worth, one of the only game Rodgers played in, he broke his leg. Favre played over 200+ games without missing a game, and rodgers lost his season over that broken leg. You may say if you were the GM you'd do "whats right" but in reality, your starting Favre. and since everyone thinks Favre should be a "team player" and be a backup, even though he wants to play, and packers wont let him for now.....why doesnt Green Bay fulfill his wish and grant him his release? they can be "team players" and give him his one wish, considering whats he's done for that team!
