Olympics
Should we even be watching the Olympics considering the Chinese govt's stance on human rights? I know in this country we have had our problems before, and might always to some extent, but at least we are conscious of it and do try to change things for the better. Why should we legitimize the corrupt IOC, NBC, GE, and the Chinese govt. by watching and supporting this farce?

I don't think watching it on TV is in essence supporting the Chinese government. I look at it as more like supporting our athletes that are over there representing our country as best they can.

The U.S. refused to participate in the Olympics when they were in the USSR...so why didn't we refuse to participate this year?
Although, letting Michael Phelps and Kobe Bryant stick it to China might be a better way to get the message across.

I don't think we are supporting the Chinese Gov't with this. It is their governement and they can do whatever they want....is it wrong what they are doing...yes.
But we are supporting our nation and our athletes

Dude, support YOUR country, end of story. We watch because it's the Olympics, not because we like the host country.
Kobe Bryant stick it to China
LOL, yeah, he's been so stellar thus far, 1-15 from the college three point line!!! Dam man, last week in my game I was 10-15 from the 3 line, maybe I should be there
LOL
WHY DON"T WE SEND PURE SHOOTERS TO THE OLYMPICS???? O yeah I forgot, they are extinct.

Whether or not average powerless Americans watch the Olympics has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on how China acts as a nation. No one is making a difference by boycotting the Olympics from their couches.
