ESPN.com Vote: NFL's All-Time Franchise Players
http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sport...ranchisegreats
Every team hopes to find its franchise player, but who are the all-time gridiron cornerstones?
The NFL regular season is right around the corner and each of the league's 32 teams are sweating out training camp workouts and preseason games in search of the perfect mix to carry them all the way to the Super Bowl. But before we get to the games that count, we need SportsNation's help in naming each franchise's greatest player.
Whether they're teams like the Bears and Packers, with nearly a century's worth of choices, or a newbie like the Texans, every team has one player who stands above the rest.
Voting continues through Aug. 18.

Art Monk & Darrell Green are two of my all-time favorite athletes, but
Sammy Baugh in third place?? What a travesty....and Peyton Manning ahead of Johnny U?!?!?

People have no sense of history.

Emmitt Smith #1 for the Cowboys!
I thought it might be Staubach since he's a QB with a huge following.

Jim Brown....no way.
I figured Tim Couch would win it for my Brownies...lol.
The Browns shouldn't have even have HAD a vote. Everyone knows it's Jimmy B!

Otto and Marion should get some votes. Brown was crushing them. They were great players during their days. NFL really needs to do more to spotlight the early years of the league and it's players.

It's tough. In one way, you're right... Graham and Marion are two of the greatest players ever. I don't think there'd be anything wrong with a 33/33/33 split in the vote.
However, I do believe that Jim Brown was greater than both of them, so even a 100% score for Brown doesn't seem ridiculous, because it could be that every voter, while recognizing the greatness of Graham and Motley, just feels that Brown is slightly better.

Emmitt for sure. He's one of the top RB's of all time. Great thread.
