Kyle Orton - Bears Starting QB

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Kyle Orton will start as the Chicago Bears opening day quarterback -- beating Rex Grossman in a competition that lasted through training camp and two preseason games.

The Bears open the regular season Sept. 7 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Orton started 15 games in 2005 and three last season. He's thrown for more than 2,300 yards and 12 touchdowns in his career.

Grossman led the Bears to the Super Bowl after the 2006 season but has often been criticized for committing turnovers. He has 30 career starts, with 31 TD passes and 33 interceptions.

I think it was a smart move by the Bears. Orton isn't that great, but I do think he is better than Grossman.

Sheesh, it really has to blow to be a Bears fan. Their QB position is a nightmare... It's more than likely going to be another wishy washy season for them having the fans complain about which QB is going to be better by week 4....
Hopefully they will bomb this season that way then can get a top college QB prospect next year. I think they need to start from scratch as far as the QB position is concerned.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the Bears but they should of settled this mess in the offseason....

LOL! The season hasn't officially started yet and the Bears are already the front runners for the 1st pick in the 2009 NFL draft.

I'm pretty sure by Week 3 Caleb Hanie is going to be the most popular player here in Chicago.....that is until he finally gets in a game and has to play with that horrid offense
Then the Chicago fans can hate all 3 QB's
