I believe it is the seller's responsibility to leave feedback first. As the buyer fulfilled their part of the deal first. I do think it's fine to wait until the buyer confirms that they received the product so the seller at least has some documentation that all went well, or has the opportunity to remedy it.

I agree with this. I have also adapted the you leave feedback 1st rule. You don't, I won't. If the seller has my money he should leave feedback, I don't have a problem with them waiting until I receive my cards. I have several hundred feedback there and have probably made over 1000 buys. I've never sold anything there.
The biggest problem I have had is getting feedback from "powersellers", they for the most part seem to "busy" to bother themselves with it.

I also agree the seller should leave feedback as soon as payment is received. It does, however, leave the door wide open for morons to hit you with a neg when it is totally undeserved.

We sell on Sherry's account, and have received 3 negs, first was because I left a neg for a non paying bidder after like 30 days, I got hit with the typical "retaliatory" neg "right back at you babe" ....what a jerk. Second was because some guy went totally ballistic after I sent a payment reminder after 5 days (it is habit to just go down the list and send them, some were 10 days late, I happened to send one to him by accident) I got the nastiest, most repulsive email from this jerk....after I got his payment, I STILL left a positive (that was stupidity I think on my part, I should have known he would still be a scum bag) sure enough, he hits me with a neg. The 3rd I just received last week, and if he felt it was a deserved neg for me to have then so be it, but he was not happy with the card, said it was all damaged (hmmmmm......) and he was so disappointed. I wrote him an email after I saw the neg and told him I was sorry he was disappointed, but had he let me know via email he felt that way, I would have given him a refund. I did send him one anyways, just because I felt it was the right thing to do.

As a buyer, I will NOT leave feedback until I get one from the seller.....I get tired of having to wonder if my payment got there, and I will NOT ever, ever write them and ask.....I have done that 5 times, 3 of which I was conveniently told, "no, no payment in our records"

I think I am going to do the same thing on ebay as I am going to do with my trading....stick to those you have dealt with before and trust!!

    Peace~
    Rima
