UD's new replacement policy........
My g-friend if getting into the hobby and she busted 1 pack of SPx and pulled some crap auto with all the edges dinged up and the corners showing white....I emailed UD and this is what they sent me
Unfortunately, due to fraudulent and other legal reasons, we are unable to replace damaged products with a product of the same value. Damaged products can only be replaced with the same exact product.
If we are unable to replace your card, your original card will be returned to you accompanied with some complimentary product to offset the cost of shipping.
So if they cant replace it they send me crap and have a nice day?

I understand though. People were buying off ebay then making it look like they just pulled it. Wise buisness decision. Chalk up one for the bad guys. It should be the retailers issue really. When you have a car problem you go to the dealer. When your a c is broke you take it to where you bought. It was a matter of time. I AGREE IT SUCKS!

There is nothing wrong with sending back everything if it came damaged and you paid for it. Quality control is dismal and they really would prefer that you keep it. You pay a small fortune for packs and boxes that usually turn out to be 99% garbage. When you finally hit something nice with production damage you are certainly entitled to replacement. However at Upper Deck they frequently return it with a few lame packs and a sorry letter. The other companies dont have "legal" problems with comparable value replacement.
If they are concerned about replacing items that were not purchased through legimitate sources they should implement the wrapper and receipt requirement used by Topps. Upper Deck customer service despises their customers and will do anything to avoid doing their job.
If you have issues with them be sure to file a claim with the San Diego BBB online.
