    Sportsbuy(Naxcom) vs. EBAY

    whats your thoughts?

    My take on them is:
Ebay positives...Larger Market, Huge selection, and can find hard to find items
Listing items are easier and quicker if your doing multiple items

Ebay negatives....Fees, Fees, Fees and more fees. Ebay charges a fee even if your item doesnt sell the first time.
Sellers can charge a hefty shipping charge of there own choosing.

Sportsbuy Positives: you do not get charged a fee unless the item actually sells and then the fees are not that much.
shipping has a standard rate for everyone and it is fair

sportbuy negatives: doesnt have the exposure like Ebay does.
the site is hard to navigate sometimes, especially if its congested with users(although they are implimenting a new system that will help listing and browsing)
You cannot load multiple pictures for auctions, and that hurts if you like to sell lots or collections

these are my opinions of both sites and for my preference i would choose Sportsbuy just because i dont want to get charged any fees unless it actually sells.

I use SCF, TR and Ebay to get my cards. If you are a buyer you can't beat free communities like SCF and Ebay. Cost nothing at all as a buyer.

ebay and scf for buying and naxcom for selling. Naxcom jus needs more exposure which they will get with the upgrades to their site and the site just getting more recognition. They are undergoing a brand new user interface design...i'll be excited to see what it looks like. nonetheless, a very cool site!

I do like the "buy offer" feature at naxcom, but that's about it. I usually search ebay first and if they don't have it then I check naxcom.

Most important about Naxcom/Sportsbuy is the buyer protection and the seller gets paid...after thousands of cards bought and sold not a single problem that hasn't been resolved to my complete satisfaction. Plus you can call them on the phone and actually talk to someone...

Their listings are also like an encyclopedia...if you don't know much about a card just type in what you do know and chances are the card is listed and the info will be there...

Exposure is the only downside I see to Sportsbuy...hopefully that will change with all the new stuff going on...

SCF is also going well but I am too new to really have an opinion yet...

Only negative I saw with Naxcom is that it seems it's where sellers list the same card that they also put on ebay, only on Naxcom seems like sellers are using that site to get more money for the card tahn they would on ebay, when whichever site gets them a better sell price they sell to that person, kind of shady but not really naxcoms fault just maybe they can throw in a "report a problem" area for this issue.Only other thing was already mentioned the searching can be tedious and slow

Naxcom has a multimarket lister tool which allows users with ebay stores and vip storefronts to list the same cards on both sites, but the prices are exactly the same...once the card sells on ebay or naxcom both listings are removed....I am always looking for the shady side of things and don't really see anything wrong with this...

As for the good "ebay-like" deals you will find on Naxcom is through private buy offers and the auctions...there is not a lot of traffic so the auctions don't get a ton of bids...plus, many sellers, like myself, seriously consider private offers...there is no fee for listings so I have over 10,000 cards listed...if someone posts an offer for one of my cards that has been listed forever and I haven't made a sale in a while then chances are they will get a good deal...

But I can not stress enough the Buyer and Seller protection built in to the Naxcom/Sportsbuy system...they act as an escrow until the deal is completed...when I sell a card Naxcom collects the money and puts it in my account...when I buy a card they take it out of my account or I can use paypal or a CC...the sales fees are reasonable and they determine fair shipping prices...
