GO AWAY Hurricane Gustav!!!
If you follow the map, that sucker is looking like it's going to pass directly over my house (Hammond, LA)!!! I had enough trouble with Katrina three years ago, I don't feel like dealing with this one!!!!
Time to start thinking about where I'm going to run to after the LSU/APP ST. game on Saturday...

Anyone who is in Texas, Lousiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and maybe Georgia and Florida need to figure out how to get out NOW! This storm will make landfall in the gulf as, at least, a Cat. 4....the gulf waters are warm, and if they are predicting it to be a Cat. 3 as it enters the gulf, it's going to be bad. Not trying to scare anyone....you just need to do what needs to be done....leave!

Good luck and stay safe! Thankfully, I'm enough inland in Texas (Fort Worth) to not get the effects of the hurricane except a lot of rain, which I welcome because it's so freaking hot here compared to back in Ohio.

The plans for the LSU game this weekend are changing as I type...looks like we may sell the tickets and get out of dodge either Friday night or Saturday morning.
I live just above Lake Ponchatrain, so as you can see the track takes this storm near my house. I've booked hotel rooms in Florida in case if my family and I have to evacuate.

And there is another one coming too. It is call Hanna and is going to hit the other side of east side of Florida. That means we are going to be trapped in the middle of 2 storms/hurricanes

Funny the people who stayed at my house after Katrina destroyed theirs thought the exact same thing. Hurricanes are not something to screw with. There are reasons evacuation orders get handed down and it isn't for the heck of it.
If it does hit I will bump this with links to all the news articles about people who were dumb and did not evacuate. I lived in Florida for 5 years and you have enough time to get out of dodge. And the poor and elderly have the option of getting out also. There are buses that transport for free.
You have been warned now you get what you deserve.
